1.1. In these terms and conditions, “we” “us” and “our” refers to LiteTutors.  Your access to and use of all information on this website is provided subject to the following terms and conditions.  The information is intended for residents of Singapore only.

1.2. We reserve the right to amend this Notice at any time and your use of the website following any amendments will represent your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions as amended.  We therefore recommend that each time you access our website you read these terms and conditions.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

2.1. The copyright to all content on this website including applets, graphics, images, layouts and text belongs to us or we have a licence to use those materials.

2.2. All trade marks, brands and logos generally identified either with the symbols TM or ® which are used on this website are either owned by us or we have a licence to use them. Your access to our website does not license you to use those marks in any commercial way without our prior written permission.

2.3. Any comment, feedback, idea or suggestion (called “Comments”) which you provide to us through this website becomes our property.  If in future we use your Comments in promoting our website or in any other way, we will not be liable for any similarities which may appear from such use.  Furthermore, you agree that we are entitled to use your Comments for any commercial or non-commercial purpose without compensation to you or to any other person who has transmitted your Comments.

2.4. If you provide us with Comments, you acknowledge that you are responsible for the content of such material including its legality, originality and copyright.

3. Hyperlinks

3.1. This website may from time to time contain hyperlinks to other websites.  Such links are provided for convenience only and we take no responsibility for the content and maintenance of or privacy compliance by any linked website.  Any hyperlink on our website to another website does not imply our endorsement, support, or sponsorship of the operator of that website nor of the information and/or products which they provide.

3.2. You may link our website only with our consent.  Any such linking will be entirely your responsibility and at your expense.  By linking, you must not alter any of our website’s contents including any intellectual property notices and you must not frame or reformat any of our pages, files, images, text or other materials.

For Customers (Parents and Students)

1.  Tutor Database

1.1. LiteTutors strives to be as accurate as possible by verifying tutors’ qualifications and identities against relevant certificates produced by the tutors themselves. However, LiteTutors does not guarantee tutor’s description to be accurate, complete, reliable, updated, or free from error.

1.2. The availability of preferred tutors is contingent upon tutors’ schedule. LiteTutors does not guarantee that the customer will be assigned to his / her preferred tutor(s).

2. Location of Tuition

2.1. By default, the tuition will be held at the residence of the customer unless indicated otherwise. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide a reasonable environment for the conducting of lessons.

3. First Lesson

3.1.  It is the responsibility of the customer to check the credentials and certificates of the tutor on the first lesson.

3.2. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that he or she is satisfied with the tutor’s credentials and qualifications.

4. Termination of Service or Change of Tutor

4.1. Should tutor be unsatisfactory, the customer has the right of terminating or switching tutors with no additional charge.

4.2. There is no contract or agreement to complete a fixed number of lessons for the customer.

4.3. The customer needs to pay for the number of tuition lessons received before termination of tuition services.

5. Tuition Rates

5.1. For the first month of lessons, tutors are not allowed to make any adjustments to the tuition rates.

5.2. The customer has the responsibility of informing LiteTutors immediately if tutor tries to re-negotiate the tuition rates.

5.3. Tuition rates can only be re-negotiated after the first month of lessons.

5.4. The rates stated on www.litetutors.sg are based on market prices and serve only as a guideline. Different charges may occur according to tutor’s level of qualification and experience.

5.5. The rates stated are accurate to the extent that they are based on current market rates corresponding to tutor’s level of qualifications and are reviewed frequently.

6. Registration Fees

6.1 All services rendered by LiteTutors will require an annual registration.

6.2 An annual registration fee of  will be $30 charged for parents seeking Poly Students, A Level Graduates / Undergraduate Tutors / Full-Time / Graduate tutors as well as Current or Ex-School Teachers.

7. Service Provided

7.1. LiteTutors does not hold responsibility over the tutee’s academic results.

8. Payment

8.1. LiteTutors levies a commission from the tutor which is the total fees for the first month’s lessons. Should services be terminated before completion of the first month, 60% of the fees for the lessons given prior termination will be levied as commission.

8.2. LiteTutors will collect the commission charges from the customers. The tutor should not collect commission charges on behalf of LiteTutors.

For tuition assignments that are scheduled for 4 lessons per month, we will be collecting the charges on the 1st day of lesson.

For tuition assignments that are scheduled for 8 lessons or more in a month,  our staff will collect feedback on your child’s progress with the tutor after the second week of lessons. Subsequently, our staff will arrange a convenient timing to collect the charges.

8.3. Tuition commission can be paid by: (1) Cash, (2) Cheque, (2) ATM funds transfer or (3) Internet Banking.

For Cheque payment, please cross your cheque and make it payable to “LiteTutors”.

For ATM funds transfer or Internet Banking, please transfer to our DBS Current Account 003-937427-5.

However, if you are transferring from a Non-POSB/DBS Account, our Bank Code is 7171,  Branch Code is 054.

9. Typographical Errors in Invoice

9.1. In the event of receiving an invoice containing incorrect payment amount due to typographical errors, LiteTutors will cancel the invoice and void the billing information.

9.2. The customer will receive an amended invoice with the correct amount.

9.3. If the customer has already paid prior amendment of invoice, LiteTutors will refund or collect the extra amount if necessary.


1. Disclaimers

1.1. Whilst we take all due care in providing our services, we do not provide any warranty either express or implied including without limitation warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

1.2. To the extent permitted by law, any condition or warranty which would otherwise be implied into these terms and conditions is excluded.

1.3. We also take all due care in ensuring that our website is free of any virus, worm, Trojan horse and/or malware, however we are not responsible for any damage to your computer system which arises in connection with your use of our website or any linked website.

1.4. From time to time we may host third party content on our website such as advertisements and endorsements belonging to other traders.  Responsibility for the content of such material rests with the owners of that material and we are not responsible for any errors or omissions in such material.

 2. Limitation of Liability

2.1. To the full extent permitted by law, our liability for breach of an implied warranty or condition is limited to the supply of the services again or payment of the costs of having those services supplied again.

2.2. We accept no liability for any loss whatsoever including consequential loss suffered by you arising from services we have supplied.

3. Indemnity

3.1. By accessing our website, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from all claims, actions, damages, costs and expenses including legal fees arising from or in connection with your use of our website.

4. Jurisdiction

4.1. These terms and conditions are to be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore and any claim made by either party against the other which in any way arises out of these terms and conditions will be heard in Singapore and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of those Courts.

4.2.        If any provision in these terms and conditions is invalid under any law the provision will be limited, narrowed, construed or altered as necessary to render it valid but only to the extent necessary to achieve such validity.  If necessary the invalid provision will be deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

5. Privacy

5.1. We undertake to take all due care with any information which you may provide to us when accessing our website. However we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you may provide to us.  Information you transmit to us is entirely at your own risk although we undertake to take reasonable steps to preserve such information in a secure manner.
